Prior to meeting Peggy, I had failed at so many diets. I had lost weight but always gained it back and an exercise routine was non-existent. This time I decided my goals would be to achieve not only weight loss but a healthier lifestyle through better eating habits, exercise, and stress management. During my insightful meetings with Peggy I began to realize how stressed and overwhelmed I was and that I needed to take better care of myself. She gave me lots of helpful information on exercise, such as keeping an extra set of gym clothes in the car so I could exercise right after work and suggested a variety of activities such as Yoga, Pilates and stretching in addition to cardio. She explained how specific food sensitivities, such as gluten, certain grains, and caffeine, can have negative effects on the stomach and she encouraged me to eat more vegetables and drink more water. She taught me that it is imperative to periodically reward myself with things other than food, for example a massage, new clothes, or a manicure. Peggy would listen attentively to my food concerns and was able to provide delicious, nutritious recipes, suggesting that I make meals ahead and then freezing portions so that I would stay on track with my eating. When I became stuck, together we would brainstorm ideas until I felt comfortable with a new course of action that would result in positive changes. Following Peggy’s guidance over the last five months, I have lost 15 pounds, now go to the gym five days a week, and have learned how to manage the emotional stress in my life. I am able to sleep better, feel more energized, and have a much more positive outlook on life. I can’t say enough good things about the guidance and health coaching Peggy has provided to me. It has been great working with her.
